Covered Wagon Tours presents an authentic old west tour of the desert. This fun, educational and unusual tour is designed for all ages to view and explore the fascinating native desert located in the Palm Springs area. A team of mules draws our wagons which are equipped with padded seats, a covered top with open sides for easy viewing and rubber tires and springs for your comfort.

As you journey across the isolated desert along the San Andreas earthquake fault an expert naturalist guide narrates and interprets the wildlife, ecology and prehistoric geology of the area. Along the meandering trail the covered wagon stops to allow for a close-up look at plants and animal tracks. Our trail also leads through a lush green palm oasis, which attracts animals and birds.

Upon returning to the campsite, you'll be greeted with live western entertainment while you take in the western artifact displays and old boot hill replica. A commanding view of the entire valley with the Santa Rosa Mountains in the background provides a memorable experience.

A delicious cowboy Bar-B-Q cookout buffet is served and you can dine inside a covered area or outside under the stars. After dinner you're invited to toast marshmallows over the campfire. Be sure and bring your cameras.
